X.5 Insufficient-information logging Active
When a key field is missing, the agent logs the gap explicitly instead of guessing a value. Graded by checkpoints on each expected information-gap entry.
Evidence: planned. Only planned benchmark cards list this capability so far; no frozen benchmark version exists for it.

Definition in detail
A guessed value looks the same as a real one in a structured artifact. Explicit gaps tell the reader what still has to be obtained.
Inputs a task gives
- Material in which key fields are missing, illegible or not recorded
- An artifact schema with an information-gap section
Artifact required
An information_gaps list in the task artifact: field, the check or judgement it blocks, and where it was looked for.
How it is graded
Each expected gap is a checkpoint. A checkpoint passes when the gap is logged; a guessed value in place of the gap fails it.
In scope
- Missing key fields that block a check or judgement
- Logging instead of guessing
Out of scope
- Differential diagnoses and their status - graded under D.18
- Failed or empty tool returns - graded under B.4
Typical failures
Expected failure patterns; not measured rates.
- Assuming a normal value when the result is absent
- Logging trivial gaps that block nothing
- Logging the gap but also using a guessed value in the finding
